The Czech Republic (Czechia) is a Central European nation of 10.8 million with a $330 billion GDP and the lowest unemployment rate in the EU — consistently below 3%. Prague is one of Europe's most visited cities, drawing over 8 million tourists annually. The country is a manufacturing powerhouse, particularly in automotive — Škoda Auto (owned by Volkswagen) is the largest employer. Beer is practically a national institution: Czechs drink more beer per capita than any other country (about 140 liters per year), and Pilsner was invented here. The country has one of the highest atheism rates in the world — over 70% of Czechs identify as non-religious.
